I have spent this morning sewing new bows and flowers to fill our scrummy selection boxes. These are obviously just quick snap shots and the box colour will be changed and tags etc added but you get the idea.
Strawberry Annie's is now doing home shopping parties, so I thought these would be great gift ideas for people to buy.
We will be offering different colour combinations and different fillings for each box. I still need to fully cost out these but at the moment I'm thinking around the £10 per box price.
Well I haven't blogged for a bit but don't think Strawberry Annie's have been enjoying lazy days sipping tea and eating cake, no matter what the photos suggest!
I have been madly busy in my workroom completing two more tutu dresses & aprons & chef hats in various colour combinations, in preparation for yesterdays photo shoot. As it was I ran out of time and I literally had the models in the dresses while we sewed on shoulder straps.
There were a few tears from the models and a few huffs about a certain young lady hogging all the pink items but once again the models did us proud and the photos are going to be stunning.
Sarah from Photography by Sarah was fantastic AGAIN!!! She arrived armed with tea pots and even some cupcakes...She then set up the whole shoot while I flapped about ironing table cloths and getting in tizz. It would not of turned out so well or been so much fun without Sarah's calming influence.
The tea party cakes were scrummy, the weather gorgeous and the location perfect (thank you to The Chocolate Truffle Company for loan of their garden).
It will be a few weeks until all the photos are ready as there is still some product shots to be completed but then all will be revealed...
I have been busy over the last week working on a new product range for Strawberry Annie's...the Tutu Dress.
This dress is made from metres and metres of the finest quality fluffy tulle, it comprises of two layers of tulle, the underneath a pale pink and the top layer a hot pink. The dress is lined in pale pink fabric making it comfortable to wear and also preserves the modesty of the wearer.
The top part of the dress is elasticated, and this is enclosed in fabric for added comfort and durability. The dress also has halter straps and a gorgeous pale pink rose.
These dresses can be made in different sizes and lengths and of course the colours of your choice.
Well I have been busy so apologies for the neglected blog. I have been working hard trying to promote Strawberry Annie's Boutique. Always a tricky one, as obviously people aren't just going to stumble across my site in cyberspace. I have given out hundreds of business cards throughout the summer but...I need to find more customers.
I have finally got motivated and started a shop on Folksy here with the hope it will get my name out there and let people find my site. I have also started a page on Facebook here and finally I am now on Twitter here. So hopefully through one of these channels people will find me. However than comes the problem of keeping them all up to date.
In the meantime I have been working on some custom orders and also working on the business side of things, trying to work out how to run my enterprise efficiently and effectively.
Here's a couple of tutus that I presently have in stock just looking for a good home...
Well last weekend I was at the Bristol Kite Festival, in the craft marquee. Craft fairs are not something I do that often but I felt like a change. So the weekend was combined with a trip to my mother in laws in Gloucester and my stall at the Kite Festival.
Saturday I arrived unsure what to expect, but I received a warm welcome from Louise from Sew Scrumptious. I soon had my stall looking as good as I could and then I just had to wait for the customers. The craft marquee got gradually busier, lots of people looking but not so many buying, as is often the case. The days sales were fine in the end and I looked forward to Sunday, as I anticipated this would be the busier of the two days.
Unfortunately Sunday dawned wet and grey, and persisted as such right through until pack up time in the evening, this undoubtly led to poor foot fall in the marquee and therefore less sales.
Never the less I met some lovely people, notalby Louise's who's daughter Izzy had won a tutu from my blog giveaway, so it was great for her to be able to pick her own, and guess what colour she opted for....
Today has been spent setting up a Folksy shop and I have several tutu orders to start on in the morning.
Well the Countess of Warwick Show wasn't as busy as I had hoped. In fact Sunday was dismal in both weather and attendance but Monday was alot better. There was a bit more of a buzz with more people there and we were able to sell some of our scrummy goodies to them.
I am still busy sewing bunting..it's feeling never ending but I have set myself the deadline of school pick up time to get them finished. I have just stopped for a cup of tea and to update my blog.
Today marked a welcome return to school, giving me time to get back to my sewing at full speed. My son is a junior this year so that feels like a step up for him, my oldest daughter started at sixth form today and my youngest daughter starts school next Thursday. They are all growing up but to be honest I've never been the type of mum to feel sad about that, I am happy that time moves by and they get slightly more independant.
I have another event this weekend, I shall be having a stall at the Bristol Kite Festival, in the crafts marquee, Crafts 2 Fly 4...this is something different for me as usually I have my own gazebo at events but I am looking forward to being in with other people and getting to know a few new faces. Find out more about the event here.
Tea loving, cake eating, crazy trike riding woman with red hair, I love creating for Strawberry Annie's, busy building my brand while juggling being a mum to three children (well two little ones and one almost adult!)
